Reunion at the Wharf Rat
Here’s a photo of Missy, Lara, and me at the Wharf Rat in Fells Point. All three of us worked at Community of Science back in the late 90s and early 2000s. COS was a nightmare, but the grunts were great people. We had kind of lost touch with each other, but we got some of the malcontents back together for a few pints at one of my favorite bars in Baltimore. Good porters and stouts here! Missy’s in the middle and Lara’s on the right. We had a great time catching up and playing trivia (every Tuesday night). Last time, we were The Gloved Ones and we won the whole shabang. This time, we were Where’s Waldo and came in last or 2nd to last. Just goes to show you what’s in a name! Hopefully, we can get Joe, Linda, Mitch, and Carol out next time.

Lazy Saturday
I haven’t update my blog in awhile. It’s been so busy with work, having the flu in late March for a week, and going to New Orleans for a much needed get away. The flu knocked me out for a full week, with a fever of 102 for a few days and a fever of 100 for a few days after that. Nothing like non-drug induced delusions!
New Orleans was fantastic. We were there during the French Quarter Fest. That was a total accident since we just wanted to get away, picked New Orleans, and found the only dates that worked with Diane’s & my schedule. But, it was fantastic. Lots of local and southern Louisiana music for 3 days. We had fabulous weather and really enjoyed ourselves. The “slurpies” helped too! The open carry law seems to apply to everywhere in the city and we took advantage of that. We ate at NOLA again, which is one of Emiril’s restaurants. It wasn’t as good as the first time we went a few years ago, but it was still fabulous. We ate at Cuvee, a place Diane found. It was the highlight meal. Amazing service, fabulous food, great presentations. We stayed at a great hotel too, called Loft 523. It was very chic with concrete floors, high ceilings, and decorated very modernly. We had a local artist’s painting hanging in the room. It was so cool, I’ll post a picture of it later, along with other ones of the room. The artist was named Harouni and his gallery was nice too. You can check it out here.
Work is progressing. I’m coming up on one year, which blows my mind. There might be some interesting news soon on my job front, so stay tuned!
